"Love" Sculpture in New York City  by Robert Indiana

"The Kiss" oil on canvas by Gustav Klimt

"The Kiss" marble sculpture by Auguste Rodin

"Mother and Child" oil on canvas by Mary Cassat

"Kiss by the Hotel De Ville, Paris" photograph by Robert Doiseneau

Don't these just make you all warm and fuzzy and gushy inside?  Take time today to hug and smooch the special people in your life.  Be inspired by Robert Indiana's simple, yet profound sculpture.  As the Beatles shared with us, "All you need is love," so spread a little love to strangers you meet in public.  Smile and say hello, share a laugh, and sincerely tell everyone to
"Have a nice day!"

  1. So funny I don't think I really "felt Cassat " until I becae a mother - just LOVE those pictures!!!

    Happy valentines Day!

  2. I can appreciate that, Patty! I love impressionism, and have always admired her for being so successful in a male-dominated era. I agree with you though, I don't think I was emotionally connected in the way I am now that I am a mother!

  3. Well, you certainly helped put me "in the mood." We're off to dinner at our local Art Deco gem of a hotel, The Hassayampa, then I'm presenting him with my handmade Valentine and he's getting a foot massage (don't tell, it's a secret) when we get home.

Happy Valentine's Day, by the way!

  4. Thanks for the lovely art post.. Happy Valentines Day Erin!
