Re-Emerging

Re-Emerging copy
©2012 Erin Fickert-Rowland, oil on canvas with graphite, 30 in x 30 in

A symphony of celestial colors and shapes, this large modern abstract painting was the first completed in my new body of work.  Vibrant colors are painted in multiple layers, creating moments of contrasting solidity and transparency throughout the image.  Hand-painted lines crisply define certain shapes, while active brushwork dances about the periphery.

Circular shapes reference the moon and planets, while squares and rectangles suggest windows.  Let your imagination take flight as you enjoy this lyrical composition!
