"Contemplation"Original Painting by Erin Fickert-Rowland

An explosion of brilliant color and active lines, this image of a vintage chair expresses a graphic Jazz-like improvisation.  Playful patterns, bold shapes, and vibrant brushwork combine to create an entertaining abstract image.

This painting coordinates with my other painting, "Illumination."  They look great together, or by themselves!

  1. yes Yes YES!!! THIS is the ONE I Love (though you know I think they are all fabulous)!!! This one grabs me and holds me and has me get lost in it. I love the parts of the chair that look like beads (but of course!) and how the yellow radiates beyond the black outline, because brightness cannot be contained. Oh much to love here :-D

  2. What fun to see the results of you new journey!

Literally your paintings seem to express you breaking out of some kind of box and jubilantly and joyfully expressing your new found freedom!

To be totally honest, I have my feet firmly planted in the "realist and impressionist" camps. But I find myself absolutely loving these! Highly unusual! Take that as a HUGE compliment, my friend!

  3. Thank you very much for your fabulous comments, Christine and Pam! I appreciate them!

Thanks for stopping by and taking the time to join in the conversation!
