I'm happy to announce that one of my newest paintings, "Protected," has been accepted to the Nature's Patterns Art Exhibition at the PACE Center in Parker, CO.
"Protected" is part of a new series of large still life paintings that focus on the beautiful intricate patterns found in natural objects. Pine cones hold the seeds of the evergreen tree, and protect them until they fall to the forest floor. The bract scales of a pine cone grow in a Fibonacci spiral and are a fascinating example of one of nature's patterns.
I'm honored that the juror of Nature's Patterns loved the painting and included it in the show at the PACE Center.
"Protected" is on view in the front gallery at the PACE, alongside some amazing artwork by local artists. It will be on view until January 3, 2014.
Enjoy photos from the festive opening reception:
There was quite a crowd at the opening! The PACE Center has all kinds of wonderful shows for the holidays, and audiences will enjoy having such a lovely exhibition to view during the events.
